Awesome! I am so glad you found some great shoes. Ya know, I had an equally disappointing experience with Exotic Dance Shoes. I don't understand because they have the Very Fine shoe brand that I like, but the sizing was wrong and the quality was just bad. Bummer.
But at least we have e.k!! :)
Love those shoes!!

Thanks for turning me on to e.k., found my sexy shoes and the customer service was great. I was let down by my first online purchase from Exotic dance shoes the quality was horrible and fit even worse.
Just ordered one of the tops from E.K. can't wait.

I was actually looking for "the elements of salsa" not "the elements of salsa dance". I am Puerto Rican and I've listened to salsa all my life but never truely danced it. I mean on occasion I danced with my grandmother and family members but not like true professionals do. At the age of 22 I find out that they have some salsa clubs in my town and some salsa classes. I think great time to polish up my roots. Although the rythem has been burnt into my head and I was able to quickly pick up the basic steps I've come to notice that there were soo many do's and don'ts to salsa. This made it hard for me as a beginer to pick up salsa and as familiar as I was to this music I felt like this was the first time I heard it. The group that I was with was not very helpful and very judgemental and I eventally dropped the classes and salsa all together. That was a bit of a bummer to me. I eventually move to a town which was stronger in it's latin culture and had more latin clubs to pick from. I became friends with some Dominicans and we would go out to the latin clubs and dance till we could not dance anymore. I found a huge difference in the "Professional" salsa dancing and actual latin dancing. That difference was there were not don'ts only do's. It didn't matter if you made a mistake on a turn or timed something wrong. Non of that mattered. What was more important is that you felt comfortable with the rythem and that you knew how to find your way back if you made a mistake. There were no experts and of course it wasn't as flashy as a professional dance however you could still dance catch a rythem and have fun. With practice and multiple mistakes you could eventually polish up and make your moves more nice. I like to watch others dance as well and mimic their turns. Again since there are no don'ts there is no pressure to do it right and eventually you will pick it up. I have become better over the years and I have watched others become better. If I could point out a fault in professional style of dancing then that fault would be a high expectation. I feel as if they push their students into the deep end of the water and start yelling swim swim. For some that may be the answer and some might pick it up that way. However you will have a lot of drowing students. I think that salsa should not be taught at such a fast pace. It is more important to get a firm understanding of the rythem regardless of how you turn and what number lands on what. I never count my steps anymore and that has helped me so much.

The videos are download files. You will receive a link to download the video to your computer and once you have it on your computer you will follow a simple install process. You will need the most recent version on Adobe AIR - it is a free download and you will receive information about how to get this on your computer if you don't already have it when you purchase the video. At that point the video files are yours to access when ever you want. We do have a video on YouTube that shows this process. You can watch it here http://youtu.be/2AELjUF9TOo

We live in Colorado! We teach mostly out of Boulder, CO.

Please let me know if you have any further questions!
Take care,
